Bequeath Of Me
By Darryn John Murphy -- Contributing Poet
Am I of a lesser man, that thou has turned me way
Discern of me now, so that I might say
That my life has fallen into disarray
Bequeath of me so that I shall live
And know thyself so that I shall give
For I have felt my fear, and yet I yearn
Beside the flickering candle burned
Cease and desist, but for one last kiss
Before you vanish into the mist
Know thy hand, and warm thyself
For I am but a humbled shadow of myself
Brazen before the morning sun
And know thyself, that my life has become undone
Less I be of a lesser class
Then to look upon you before the mast
Bequeath of me so that I shall know
And bequest of me so that I may grow
